Beautiful stamps from France




The Place Royale of Bordeaux (or Place de la Bourse, 1730-1775) was designed by the Royal architect Jacques Ange Gabriel as landscape for an equestrian statue of Louis XV. It was inaugurated in 1775.

The stamp was issued in 22 June 2009.



The Castle of Bastie d'Urfé (or Bâtie d’Urfé) is a castle located in Saint-Étienne-le-Molard, France. Built in the 15th century in a medieval style, the castle was transformed by Claude d'Urfé (1501-1558), ambassador of Francis I in Rome for the Council of Trent, then governor of the Dauphine of France. His ideas for the castle were based on italian Reinassance.

The stamps was issued in 18 June 2009.
